| Working on a later model rotary B in a Mazak 6800 with Mazatrol control and MRB drives. B axis is on an encoder. I cannot seem to effect a change on the axis through comps. If I enter a backlash comp positive or negative value, it only moves in the negative direction and no matter what the value I enter it is the same amount of response (-16 arc seconds). If anyone has encountered this problem or anything similar ,input is appreciated.

| Al, After checking with one of my associates who is a Mazak field service engineer, I relayed your B-axis situation to him. It was expressed to me that the MRJ Drive that operates the B-axis has no provision provided in the control to adjust for positioning error compensation or backlash compensation on this type of drive. The linear axes parameters are adjustable on the MRJ drives only.
